I had shoulder pain for years , And I did have a bow that gave me handshock . It just accelerated the problem in my shoulder . Research on my shoulder with a Dr. and a surgeon but said I had "Frozen shoulder " I could not move it above my neck . They were going to do surgery and asked me to do therapy for three weeks 2 times a week to see if it would make any difference .But the therapy that I had was different ,Painful to say the least . But they found out that the therapy was working so I did all 11 weeks of therapy two times a week .
I had a therapist that would bring my arm to a certain point in different positions where it would be hurting ,and then he would take it a little bit farther and hold it for 5 to 10 seconds . I hated it ,But it worked .
The very first thing I would do would be going to a Dr. that is qualified to work on your shoulder that specializes in that area .I did the same thing you did I started out at 55# and came down to 45 #, The bow that had Handshock with was a 43#, and it was my fault that I had Handshock , The string stretched and I did not adjust it .
But after 18 months of working with my shoulder with therapy and home exercises with the right equipment . I'm shooting again today
