The most important thing in sharpening a knife, broadhead, or any cuting tool is maintaining the same bevel. You can go backwards, forwards, in circles just so long as the bevel is the same. When I sharpen a Woodsman head I go back and forth with lite pressure never picking the head off the stone. I couldn't sharpen them either using the method that was displayed. I sharpen Zwickeys and Bear razorheads using a diamond stone. I start with a coarse (black) stone and finish with the medium (blue). The old razorheads get super sharp rather quickly. The zwickeys take a little more time to get the same result. If I want them really sharp I'll finish with a black novaculite stone. They may be hard to find in your area but here in Arkansas they are quite common and inexpensive.

What's the brand of that file?
