Cat whiskers by the foot?
« on: August 08, 2007, 09:47:00 PM »
I use to be able to go to Denton and find vendors that sold Cat Whiskers off a roll that you purchased by the foot rather than just the two pieces that come in the packages. Anyone know who might sell these off the roll or by the foot still. Would appreciate any information anyone can provide.

Thanks

Jann's Netcraft is a fishing lure making supply company that you can get them from. Skirt making material works great and comes in a ton of colors.

I bought some once in the fly tying area of a sporting goods store. Got several peices each  about a foot long in a package. Seemed to be a lot cheaper to buy than whats sold in archery shops.

The lure company sells you 5.5' for $1 +/-. Lancaster is $39.99 for 50 pairs.

I grabbed and old "Bungee" cord, the type with a woven cloth cover, opened it up and got a few feet of the stuff. Cut to your own length!

I just bought a 69' roll of cat whisker materialfrom my local archery shop, it was about $30.00. I think it came from Lancaster. I'm like you, use to get it by the foot anywhere but just couldn't find it anywhere and the whiskers in the tub are really short. I know $30.00 is a bunch for whiskers and you'll think (what will I do with 69') but trust me, it goes fast.

Search under rubber supplies. Can't remember where I got mine but had to buy several hundred feet. Got two colors, split it with a friend and have enough for several lifetimes. Cost was dirt cheap. Frank
