Side Quivers - Cedar Ridge
«

I have been looking at going the route of a side quiver versus on mounted on my bow. There are several out there that look good (Sponsors carry right here on Trad Gang). Two, in particular have caught my attention: the Stalker and the Powderhouse from Cedar Ridge. Was curious as to whether any of you own either of these products and could share your thoughts. As always, your input is much appreciated!

The stalker is just like the Shrew Mantis. I have the Mantis, made by Cedar Ridge for Shrew bows. Good quiver but I prefer a bow quiver now mostly but still use it sometimes.

It just depends on the hunting situation. If stalking through heavy brush I like a quiver on the bow, but for deer stand hunting I prefer the side quiver. I really like the Cedar ridge quivers they are well built.

I'm leaving for North Dakota tomorrow am and my ceder ridge is already in the bow case. Great quiver, its all I use unless I'm hog hunting and then I might carry my Dawg Ware tube quiver.
If I had any complaints it would be that the foam is hard to replace.
If I'm on the ground I just lay it within easy reach, If I'm in a tree I just hang it hood end up on the tree beside me. I use a small screw in hanger. sometime just stuff in into my backpack hood down fletching up.

I have Art's four arrow side stalker and it works just fine. Light, easy to maneuver and quick on and off. Ditto what Bucksakemmer said about the foam plus the foam is no the best type for broadheads to begin with. Notwithstanding, a very good quiver.

I wouldn't trade my 4 arrow stalker for anything else! I love it! I have had to replace my foam as mentioned. I used some that my wife had in the basement for displaying artifical flowers. It seemed to be better at retaining the broad heads. I will try to find out where she got it and post later. Jon.

I like bow quivers best, but haven't found one easy enough on and off with un-tapped bow, while in a treestand... for me anyway. I don't like fooling around with anything once I get up a tree..I don't even like having to stand up again and screw anything in the tree..just want to do what I got to do with minimal hand and arm movement and hunt.
So I just made a one arrow broadhead quiver for my bow and a hang over my shoulder type out of an old bow quiver to carry my arrows in and out.
