35/55's 45lb curve

I'm going to the shop today to get a dozen arrows cut down for my:

45lb RER Recurve, Center Cut, Drawing 28"s.

I'm thinking of starting at 30.5" Length, with 200 grains up front.

Will these be too stiff?  I realize I have to shootem, but I'm using Big Jims Hot Glue, and can remove and trim if needed...

I have a 45# recurve that I draw to 29" and it tunes up well with a full length .400 Axis and 150 grain point.

Mitch you should be close, I'd leave them full length first. Cutting then just a little will stiffen em up quick. Alot of money has been wasted on people cuttin their arrows too soon.
I am shooting 3555 out of my 46 lb longbow and 180 gr is right on. 200 shows a little weak but that can be a good thing once an arrow is fletched.

You should be good with the 3555s I have a 62in Bama Expi 47@28 R/D Longbow shoots that arrow great full length with a 145pt!

i shoot a 45lb 60inch recurve and use the 3555 as well. my draw won't let me cut them so i use full lentgth. If i use a 50g brass insert i use 150 grain target tips and bare shaft shows slightly weak (i.e. ideal to me). The nice thing then is that i can simply remove a field tip and screw in my 150grain magnus broadhead and they shoot identical. Lots of people seem to like the 1535's with 45lb bow. i have not tried those but would worry that it woudl be very easy to have too much wt up front even at lighter tip wts.
BIG PT:  mentioned above - DON'T cut before you experiement with dif wts. It takes a ton of wt to break down a carbon arrow BUT cutting a quarter inch adds huge stiffness

My 45# K-Mag is shooting 30" Heritage 150's and 29" GT 35-55 both with 200 gr up front (I draw 27").  Good arrow flight with either set up.
I too, though, would leave full length and see what you're getting before cutting them down.

A lot of arrows/shafts for sale in the classifieds come in too short for me. I wonder if some of them were cut too soon. Definitely a vote for starting full length first.

Mitch, I'd start at full length. They tolerate a wide range of weight up front with minimal change in spine. You'll get your big spine change's when you vary length, if you start too short you've just made a dozen arrows to sell in the classifieds.
