Hardwood bottoms of Louisiana.  Will not hunt in October without it.  Oh, it takes about 5 minutes to really work, so light it on the way to your stand

I have been eat up with mosquitoes the last few years in early season. I have been thinking about one but thought they were much more expensive. I just looked them up and couldn't believe they were under $30. I'll have one very soon.

When you get one go ahead and buy a four-pak refill.

Not nonsense at all. One of the few products that actually does everything it claims to do. I doubt you'll be disappointed.

Another resounding YES! Don't know how we hunted without them back in the day! Living in the woods that I hunt we buy the bulk packs of pads and butane from thermacell directly and use them almost all year long. Tried the earth scent and was not impressed. It stinks pretty bad.
Only thing I've found to watch for is getting it super close to your face. I sat all day once with the unit less than a foot from my head and the fumes caused my face to break out like poison ivy. eyes about swelled shut. Wasn't fun. But better than death by blood loss!

Mine is alwAys on in early season here in Arkansas. Killed deer with it doing its job. They are great. If I leave it at home I will not go in river bottoms. Would just be a husk left of me in an hour. Lol. Great product that's lives up to the job.

I was skeptical when I bought mine but after a bear hunt here in Michigan's U P I was a believer.  Had stands set up to film for hunting bear and it kept the bugs away from both of us.  I have also heard of guys putting doe in heat on the used scent pads and setting it out away from their stand and having good results with it bringing bucks in.
Too many bows to list, and so many more I want to try!  Keep the wind in your face, and your broadheads sharp.

Back in the early 80's I was never in the swamps without being covered head to toe in 99% DEET, talk about stink. But the deer never seemed to mind the smell, at least I killed plenty of them while wearing it. The downside was at times my legs and back felt like I was laying on a bed of nails with so many skeeters biting at one time.    :(    And DEET ate the finish off of many of my bows.

Since switching to a thermacell I have never had that problem, within 4 minutes after firing it up skeeters are GONE. And around here the skeeter is considered to be the State Bird!    :scared:
Don't believe it bothers deer, this past spring gobbler season I had 2 does walk within 8 feet of my ground blind and they never seemed to notice anything unusual, and the thermacell was going strong.

i also thought they were a gimmick untill i tried a buddys, i am a believer and now own 2 of em, to test it, i was sitting a stand and getting eaten alive by skeeters i lit it and after a few minuites they were gone thinkin it was a fluke i shut it off for a while and they returned again eating me up ! lit it and they were gone !!   on the refills, you can save alot of $$ by refilling em yourself. do a youtube search of thermocell refill works great and WAY cheaper than buying em..
