Help w/ Arrows
« on: September 19, 2012, 09:01:00 AM »
I've been looking to get a nice set of arrows and would appreciate some advice as to where I might find them or someone to build them.  I would really have liked to build them myself but the time and money just didn't work out this time.  I'm hoping to get a few seasons out of these before I move over seas.

I kind of had my mind set on 28", 50-55#, d. fir, barrel (or hunter; Is there a difference?) tapered, dark walnut stain, low-profile banana cut turkey feathers, 125gr point.

If you know of where I might find a set of these or if something sounds off about this set-up I would appreciate the help.

Thanks,
Ken

Contact "snag" or one of the other custom arrow makers here for some beautiful or plain tapered Douglas fir arrows. As for spine/length/, that depends on the bows shelf cut, draw length, weight at your draw...

Welcome to Trad Gang, post up your specs and you'll get some good answers.     :campfire:

Mike at the Nocking Point can also fix you up. He's a sponsor here and I have gotten a couple dozen beautiful arrows from him.

I answered your email Ken. Just getting caught up after being away on an elk hunt. Shouldn't be a problem getting the 50/55's in 23/64". I'll check and let you know.
