New to me Foley Pics added
« on: September 20, 2012, 10:16:00 AM »
Just received a new to me Foley long bow. 62" 54@28, Bocote and Tigerwood riser, Bocote limb veneers over what looks to be bamboo cores. Probably the best looking bow I have owned. Smooth and fairly quick but SUPER quiet!!!! Definitely the quietest bow I have ever owned!!! Still checking it out shooting wise but pretty impressed so far. Pics soon to follow.
May your arrow always fly true and your hunt be an adventure.

Here are the pics of your Foley Scott. This one certainly ought to have a "keeper" sticker on it!

Very nice Scott! Love the wood combo. Foleys are some of the great bows you hardly see for sale.

Thanks Mike, the woods are what really drew me to this bow. A little more poundage than I usually shoot but liking it so far.

Man  that is a nice looking bow. I have one also. Mine is a 64" 53@ 28. It has the carbon and bamboo core. I have a second set  of limbs that are bamboo and a palmwood veneer. I tell you this is the best shooting bow that I own or ever have owned. I put all of my widows up. I truly am impressed with this bow. I have owned many longbows in the past and this is the one. It seems the more I shoot it the better I get. I have always had problems with longbows in the past. This one serves me well. I shoot 21/17 easton with 145 tips cut at 30.5.. Mike Harbison made a 12 strand string with padded loops, I think it is xl material. I also put a Great Northern strap-on quiver. I am fixing to get into some hogs real soon. Good luck with your bow.

Thanks guys. Larry, it was a pleasure dealing with you even though the USPS had us both a little worried at one point!!!! I hope that Shaman is all you were expecting too. Steve, I was thinking of trying a similar string myself although with the Dacron string Larry built for it, its the quietest bow I have every shot, bar none!!!! I thought that Shaman was super quiet but I think this one has it beat.

I've always wanted to try one. As said you never see them for sale second hand. That's a good sign.
