Vanes on carbon
« on: October 03, 2012, 07:27:00 AM »
Have a Robertson,Dye,and Widow set up with 5 in feathers and they are the best.
Also have a Titan w/ rest and plunger and interested in success stories with plastic vanes on carbon.Thinking three 4 inch vanes-just wondering if they would stabalize a magnus type broadhead.
Vanes on carbon on a Titan bow would be weatherproof and not have to worry about scratches ect.
Not interested in lectures on how I might be going to the dark side-LOL. Thanks, Roy
Maybe it is time to shoot what I have on the rack

They will be fine.  I have shot vanes a lot. I used to keep a shaft with vanes in the quiver for rain and stuff.  I also used 3 4" vanes. I just use the waterproofing powder now, but you should have no problems.

God Bless,
Nathan

I assume you're using an elevated rest on the Titan.  If so, then no problem shooting vanes.

As long as your arrows/bow are well matched and tuned, the 4" vanes should be plenty for even the big Magnus, esp if you are shooting a higher FOC.
