Targets for the Kids
« on: October 07, 2012, 08:36:00 AM »
I have a 3 year old son who shoots is maddog at least 5 days a week. He is getting quite good.  He love shooting my deer.  I was wanting to get him a target or two for christmas.  I was wondering if a few small animal targets would be better than say a Hog Target.  Also which brand would hold up best as he likes to hit them in the head or butt.

I think the bigger the better. I know my kids when they were young were just happy hitting the target. Now its "is it a kill shot?" Also don't forget the water balloon's. Kids love wathching them pop when they hit them.

Mine was most happy with a cardboard box at that age.. better penetration and no bouncers.... and cheap. Don't know about targets. We shoot a cheap foam from walmart or hay now at 7.

I have about 100 round bales in my yard and other such things but he loves nailing the Deer.

Try this link for ethofoam targets.  As long as you have a good backstop, there are a lot of neat targets.  We of course got the t-rex....
