Weight tubes making noise
« on: August 12, 2007, 04:28:00 PM »
I just received and installed some 3gpi tubes, from 3R, into my Gold Tips and I'm getting noise from 2 of them that were quiet before.  Several of the tubes were splitting when I received them.  I cut off both ends and thought that would take care of them.  The 5gpi tubes have had no such issues.  Sadly,   "[dntthnk]"   I put a little fletch tite platinum on them before installation and am wondering how I'll get them back out. Has anyone else had this happen.
Thanks

If you are only getting noise from two of them, maybe they were cut slightly too short and are moving around inside the shaft.

First question I ask is "Did you get the correct diameter tubes for the arrows you're shooting?"

They make 2 different tube diameters for various brands of carbon shafts.

Pinch the tubes every couple inches, alternating 90 degrees with every pinch. This will make them snug inside the shaft and sould eliminate any rattling.

Wow, I posed this question to 3rivers and a couple of replacement tubes just showed up at my door!!    :clapper:   I'll try and remove the offending tubes and install 2 new ones.  I'll try the 'pinch' trick, Jason.
Thanks
