One thing i have found in looking for a bow for a kid is that a bow needs to be short under 56" so when shooting out of a tree the bottom limb stays off their leg.I would recommend a 52"- 54"

Curt,His bow is 54@28 but Hayden has a 23 1/2 draw witch is 43lb his arrow is GT1535 26" 150gr WW right at 400gr total. He hit behind the last rib below the spine angled forward the deer was past us when he shot. The arrow penetration about 12" As the deer ran away i thought he was to far back but the deer only ran about 20 yards and slowed down and i could see blood running down the deer. The doe only went about 60 yards and fell over when we gutted her he never hit the guts {I'm not sure how but he didn't}Hope this helps Hayden is a very large 10 year old 5'2" 130lb which helps him hold that kind of weight.

Absolutely amazing. Way to go Hayden. People like you will determine the future of our passion. I'm glad your Dad is your teacher. By the way. I did not kill my first deer till I was 16 and that was with a compound! You should be proud as should your father.

Hayden... what a great story. I was a few years older than you when I shot my first. I can still smell the forest and hear it's sounds. The memory of my doe will be with me all of my days as I'm sure yours will as well.
You've got a great Dad and family. Follow their example and life will always be sweet for you.
I'm looking forward to more stories. Have a great rest of the season.

Congratulations young man. That's a great accomplishment that I know you've worked at very hard and good on Dad too for getting him started early.
