Old Bear Quivers vs. German Ridge Quivers

I have some old Bear spring arm quivers that I use on my FB takedown, but they are kind of noisy on the shot. So, I have two questions for everyone.

First, is there something that I can do to get rid of that metal noise when I shoot?

Second, I have been looking at the similar quivers that German Ridge makes and was wondering if they are quiet when you shoot and if they do make a sound is it quieter than the old Bear spring arm quivers?

Larry, I know some guys on the history forum have modified the spring arm quivers to be more stable and quiet. I have turned one into a 2 piece and used newer bushings in the riser . No experience with German Ridge

I use pieces of leather, fuzzy side of velcro, and felt pads to make my vintage Bear quivers quiet. Usually it only takes two in the right places to do the job. Mine are some of the quietest toughest quivers I've ever used.

Had a German Ridge for years.Relatively quiet with the steps others already mentioned.
My favorite quick on/quick off quiver,but I heavily redid it to ride closer to my bow.Not sure they are still in business.
Heavy compared to others but if you're removing it in the tree..no big deal.

I do not think they are still making quivers. Sad, I like mine. I don't shoot with it on, just use it to carry arrows in/out from my stand. Comes off and goes on quick and silently.

I was having the same problem a few years ago, but then an old Bear collector showed me that I had the quiver on backwards (which is pretty easy to do.)  However, even after arranging it properly, I was not happy with the noise level, so do not use them anymore.

I have a few Bear spring-arm quivers that I use. There are a couple of places that can get noisy that you should check. First, look to see if the spring arm is too close to the hood. If it is, the vibration of the shot can cause contact there. The best solution is to make adjustments so that the contact is eliminated. Second, the broadheads inside the hood might be contacting the hood. That will cause noise. Eliminate that noise by turning the broadhead so that the contact is eliminated. Third, make sure that all of the screws are really tight. Last, make sure that the spring arms are close in on the riser.

If you do these things the quiver should be completely quiet. I have one on an A-mag TD right now that is silent.

I'll add that the rivets that hold the hood on vibrate loose and will cause it rattle (buzz).. The hood then acts as a megaphone of sorts.

Work some silicon or other material into the rivets, which helps a lot.

I too have heard the German Ridge quivers are no more.
