Greetings! I have been reading a lot of posts on this site and gained a lot of knowlege here. Wanted to say thanks and hopefully share some of my work and hunting experiences.
I built a red oak board bow for my wife and will share pics when i can. Probably ned to resoze them from the looks of things, but I still need to finish it. using Purple Rit dye, but not sure about what to seal it with just yet. Bow is very light draw but have not measured yet and the tiller is way too posative but its so light I am sure it will not matter and she will just be starting out with form etc. She had a 39# bow and had dificulty with draw. This thing is about 18 lbs i am guesing. Backed with paper. used poplar on the back of the riser and that seems like a bad choice for anything other than low # bow so my second one will not have Poplar, but it turns real purple with the dye so it should look ok for her bow. First one I made I buil with a "D" shaped belly and didnt back it. it snapped like a twig of course, but this second bow is drawing nicely. Her DL is 26 and I have had it to 29 with no issues so it should be good to go.
Anyway just wanted to say hi and thanks for all the info and i can't wait to share more later. Sorry so long winded for my first post.
