New area, where would you hunt?

Looks like the wind this Saturday will give me 2 options - a pretty good funnel between standing corn and some kind of beans (not soybeans) or an inside corner up against winter wheat (or maybe rye). As you can see, I'm not used to hunting farmland and this is the first season in this area. What do you think?

Sign is about equal, leaning towards the wheat, just looks more appetizing:)

I would set up from some vantage point and glass the area and then plan my attack

Hunt the standing corn. Been my experience deer will use corn for both cover and a food sorce. Plus if its a funnel should give you the opportunity to take advantage of any pinch points in and out of the corn. There is equal sign around each but I would almost bet there is more deer around the corn. This is only my opinion as to what I would do here in Southern IL. Don't know where your at or what the rest of your areas look like. Winter wheat here seems to be a post rut staging area where late rutting bucks will go looking for the last few does in estrous. I like winter wheat late and standing corn early. Good luck with your choice either way. Keep us posted as to which choice you make and how it turns out.

If the sign is equal, I'd go with the funnel. In fact, I'd hunt the funnel regardless of if there was a crop planted or not.

Well, I hunted the funnel and didn't see anything except almost stepping on a big black snake. Was only out of the stand from 11:00 to 1:30. Lots of tracks in the fields but also seems to be more pressure than I was expecting, so I'm gonna regroup and get back in the woods.
