bob lee bows
« on: October 20, 2012, 01:21:00 PM »
I was thinking about ordering a bob lee recurve and was told to get the bicentinal with the micarta in the handle to reduce any hand shock if any.. My question is do the other less expensive bob lee 3 pc recurves have much hand shock?? and is there a big difference in the ones with the micarta in the handle vs plain wood handle  any info is appreciated. thanks   Robbie

I have a signature series and owned a bicentennial with micarta riser. Only difererance I could notice was that the one with micarta weighed more and both had no hand shock. They are very good bows and good people to deal with. Good luck Don

No hand shock in any of the Lee bows I have owned--and no Micarta, either. Heavier, though.

I have Bob Lee short riser shedua with no micarta, both recurve and longbow limbs, zero hand shock.Great bow,in fact when I got it I sold all my other ones so I could get longbow limbs for it.Shoots great and very smooth.I just prefer longbow limbs but both are great.

Bob Lee has no handshock in any of their take-down bows. I don't say that from any bias. I hate hand shock and you won't find it in their bows.

Bob Lee makes a GREAT bow! I purchased my first custom bow from them in 1994. It is a Signature TakeDown Longbow @ 57#. I have never bought another bow. I am still shooting this same bow 18 years later. Never any hand shock. Got some 47# limbs for it and started using them this year. Alaska, Wy., NM, MO.,Ark.,LA. This things has been everywhere with me. What has honestly amazed me is how it has held up. In LA and MS where I hunt most, the ground is kinda soft so when I hunt on the ground I just shove my lower limb in the dirt and my bow just stands there and when I need it I grab it, pull it out the ground and shoot. I figured the lower limb would not last long doing that. I have never even had to refinish the string tips. Amazing quality!

I second everything already said. However, I have yet to try shoving my bow limb in the dirt...I might have to try that John146!

I've got a Bob Lee 1 pc recurve.  No Micarta in mine.  There is no handshock.
Its a great bow, though I need to see if Bob will take some of the weight off of it.

I had the all Babinga classic elete.
It had no hand shock and was a fine shooter. The mase weight is a little heavier than your average bow.
