Same here, kind of a combination of each.

No idea. Couldn't tell you how my arrows go where I want 'em to, they just (usually) do!

IMO....EVERYBODY gap shoots.  The difference being where your focus of concentration is.  Some will focus on the tip of the arrow......some on their target, but in order for the brain to do it's job, it has to have a reference.....that being the tip of the arrow.

When I'm shooting really good, my focus is on the target but when I'm struggling, I tend to start focusing more on the tip of the arrow and trying to make adjustments.  There's no doubt in my mind that the subconsious mind does a better job of making the needed calculations than the consious mind.

Then again......I could be off my rocker!     :D

Rocdoc said it for me,, I pick a spot line everything up and take my shot,,In my blured vision I know where my arrow is but I give my spot I want to hit the attention,,

Check out this video I have,,I like to practice like I'm ready to draw on game with little bow or hand movement. Just the draw of the bow and the shot,,I always want to better my form and accuracy. right now its good with in 23 to 10 yards or so,, past that and I get all over the place and need improvement and will keep shooting and learning to shoot properly,,I need lotsa work,,LOL,,

I don't think it's necessarily subconsious gap shooting.  It could be a factor of motor memory.  When you throw a baseball you don't use gaping for aiming.  Your mind remembers where the corrolating position and release point of your arm is to achieve the desired result.  I think instinctive shooting can be the same.  Through practice the mind learns where the arm needs to be in order to achieve the desired result.  That's why you sometimes have to learn to adjust when you change bows because the impact point is different or the grip is different, etc.

Please just vote and don't start a gap vs instinctive.  He just asked for a vote, not a discussion, or a debate. Just click a dang button and move on people!   ;)

They are different aiming methods....and its OK!!!!  Different as conscious and sub-conscious...but its OK!!  I promise!

I don't care how ya aim, long as ya go to the field with enough confidence and ability to take a shot and know your limitations.

Hasn't SOMEBODIES hunting season opened yet????      :D            :D            :D

Tomorrow Terry.I'll let y'all know.

JUST SHOOT!!!!
Someday you and I will take the Great Hart by our own skill alone, and with an arrow. And then the Little Gods of the Woods will chuckle and rub their hands and say, "Look, Brothers. An Archer! The Old Times are not altogether gone!"
