Says it all and no wonder!
Hang in there, that pic won't be soon leaving your head, tho. Should help to steady you for the NEXT time.

I have been there myself an it sucks.there is hope. It made me pratice harder an calm down more . I never saw my buck again however last year I had a large buck come in at 8 yds an I got him.pick a spot.an committ. shoot the bow not the arrow .trust what you see.I know you know all this. an realized it as soon as you let go of the string.nothing anyone says is going to ease the pain.It is all on you to fix.even though I had redemtion it still bothers me a little.once I have my bow all set up an its shooting good .from that point on its all mentel for me some days I do great an some days I am mentel.good luck, regroup, hunt hard .

Clean misses are better than poor hits...esp. when they go unrecovered. What Kirkill said is 100% correct. Now your hunting trips will be filled with anticipation and the knowledge that you can get a buck like that in range...should be motivating. It will be interesting to see if you see him in the same place again. I've not had good luck getting two opportunities as the same buck if the first attempt failed or I was busted.  Hope you have more than one set up for him. Good luck...that is some nice deer.

Steve said it if no one has missed a chip shot it's because they've not hunted long enough. Amaizing how such a large critter can look so small from 15 yds. out. Best wishes on your return visit.

Thanks for all the good luck wishes, much appreciated. I can still replay every moment of that hunt and am happy to have had the chance. I am absolutely thankful that I didn't have a bad hit. No animal deserves to suffer due to my inabilities.
This little farm has offered me some dandy bucks over the years one of which was my first traditional buck. I missed him early in the season and was fortunate enough to stick with it and take him in mid December. Lets hope history repeats. Ha

I've come up with a three step plan for setting up my shot. If he slips up again he will not be happy.......

Mike, here's what I do when one like that comes in. I picture my mother in laws face on the lung area. That will never fail you. Of course if you like your mother in law you are going to have to adjust the formula somewhat to make it work for you.

:nono:  Haaaaaa.....   not gonna touch that one!

Wait, that just might work. Thinking the hardest part now is not over pressuring the area, it's only 25 acres.
