Longbow for 6 year old
« on: November 05, 2012, 09:12:00 PM »
How long of a bow should I get for my six year old son.  His little maddog recurve is getting too small for him.  I believe the one he has now is 18# at 21".  He doesn't really need a step up weight.  I want a longbow this time for some torsion stability so his dad don't twist it during stringing.

48" should be good.  Get a maddog pup longbow, that is what I have for my kids.

Black Rhinos are great kids bows and Chuck is very good at matching the shooter to the bow.  They are a TG sponsor.   www.bows.net

Depending on the bow. It could varies between 3-5lbs increase per inch. 18#@21 translates to roughly 27/33#@28.

My 6-year old has a 48" Maddog.  It's a great little bow.
Life is a whole lot easier when you just plow around the stump.
