Canton, OH area at Christmas time
« on: November 13, 2012, 12:04:00 PM »
My wife and I have been talking about visiting the out-law at Christmas, and staying for a few day between Christmas and New Years, is there any place to shoot (indoor or outdoors) while I am up there? Any places to stump shoot while I am there that I? Any licenses needed (small game?)?
Ask me about CTO.

-I am not sure. Check with "Steveincanton" he would probably know.

- Public land close to canton

   Berlin lake wildlife area
   Beach City Wildlife area

-Stump shooting on public land I am not sure about. You can get a 3 day tourist license that is  valid for everything except turkey, deer and furbearers for $40.00.
Annual nonresident is $125.00
Hope some of this helped.

Thanks that does help. I have looked a bit into bow hunting with my BIL in Ohio next year, but this is kind of a last minute thing, and it would be just to get away from the out-laws (I love them, but...).

If anybody know of any place to shoot or stump shoot let me know.

The only thing that I am a bit worried about is I have been in Texas for 8 years now, and I don't have to much colder weather stuff anymore. I moved from Minnesota, so I have done cold weather before, but have gotten rid of most of my stuff.
Ask me about CTO.

Sorry for your luck in heading to Canton. I grew up there and don't go back often! There is a club called Lost Arrow Archery over by Massillon which is 20 minutes away.

Well they are happy that they are out of Michigan, I think that the plant that my FIL works at is actually in Massillon, and they live Canal Fulton.
Ask me about CTO.

Beech City Wildlife area really isn't very far and you could go stumping out there. You would probably need a hunting license though. I have shot lots of squirrels in that area.
