Young Kids and Old Kids Having Fun Shooting In the Shop
« on: November 14, 2012, 09:52:00 AM »
Despite the poor lighting and clutter I wanted to show some of the young and old locals enjoying an evening of shooting their bows. It makes my day to see how much fun they have, and how much they improve in such a short while. Here are three photos of last Thursday's group. One of them will be a group photo and two of them will be of 4 of the teenagers who stayed after the program for some serious speed shooting competition.

With the current surge of interest in traditional archery it would be a shame if we don't nurture it. Most of us could never give back all that we were given, but we can try.

I'll try to add more photos later. Please feel welcome to add your own photos or comments to this thread.

I have been impressed with the girls in the group. When we teamed the girls against the guys they  held their own and were very competitive.

That is great. This next year I'm going to see if I can get something started like that.

Tonight is family night again. Because of other things going on, this group varies from week to week. I'll try to add more photos afterwards. Again, feel welcome to post your own family photos and comments.

This is from tonight. First photo is Filicia shooting. Doesn't she have good form?

This is Alex shooting a bow his granddad made.

This is Ryan. He's the youngest but holds his own.

Renee is a new shooter who also has good form, and is a pretty good shooter.

This is Bryan who's a parent and a shooter. It's hard to tell who is having the most fun.

We play a number of games to keep it going. Ambush is one of the favorite. Eagle Eye Eliminator is what we usually finish with. Or a timed shoot to get two arrows in a dot.

Well, it's getting late so it's time to go. Life sure is good when you can go back to being a 10-12 year old again. Lol.

Nice!      :clapper:
An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backward. So when life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means that it's going to launch you into something great.
