Arrow suggestions from guys who draw around 25-26"
« on: November 20, 2012, 05:47:00 AM »
Gents,
My buddy now has an HS Toelke Whip 56@26 and he draws just short of 26". Do any of you guys have experience at some ballpark set up for arrows for my buddy, maybe using Gold Tips? If not then other carbon combos? No wood please. Nothing against wood but he does not have the time or local resources for wood arrows. Carbons are easier to come by. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

I have a 26" draw and usually shoot 60lb draws.  When I was shooting carbons I used CX Heritage 250 at 29" with a 100gr brass insert and the flew great with anything from a 125gr to 160gr broadhead.  Now I will say that my Centaurs seem to shoot anything but that's what I was using.  Arrow  usually weighed about 600gr.

I too have only a 26" draw and shoot bows in the upper 40s to low 50s I have shot the Axis arrows now for at least 6 years.  Not changing anytime soon.  Good penetration and pretty durable with an alum footing up front.  I get high FOC and love the set up.  With a 26.5" arrow I get about 525 grains.  Good Luck

My wife shoots that weight at that draw. We are primarily bowhunters so her arrows are Axis 500's, 27" with 200 grain points.  I know Bob Morrison shoots 44# @ 26" and shoots the 500's with 300 grains up front.

If aluminum is an option he can go with a 2016 at 28 inches and 125 gr heads.
