I am in need of just a bit of info for anyone that can help. I'll give you a short bio- I live and raise my family in Clare county, MI. Almost dead middle of LP. Been hunting for 30 years and have my fill of year and half old bucks. Quit hunting for a few years when I used wheels, just knew I wouldn't see a buck I really wanted to kill. Switched to traditional about 10 years ago and was reborn as a bowhunter. I hunt my in- laws 20 acres, but reserve that mostly to take my 2 daughters and son out hunting on. They are all successful deer hunters. I am finally at the point in my life financially that my wife of 20 years has given me the green light for an annual DIY hunt. I love the hills and backcountry feel of SE Ohio. Its close enough for spring and summer visits as well. I'm at the computer constantly trying to narrow down places to check out. I know the pressure can be intense, but I like to hike away from the crowds. My avatar buck shot in 2010 came from a stateland piece I hike 3/4 mile through a swamp to hunt. I'm really looking for PM's from a few fellow trad guys with info that might help me find a decent place. I don't want honey holes, but info on where to avoid doing research or visiting would certainly help. I'm not opposed to a work swap type situation if some one is interested in that either. If I knew an annual trip with the chance for decent encounters with mature bucks was possible, I'd be one happy camper. If anyone wants to kick start me in the right direction, shoot me a PM. Thanks, Dave
