What Bit Is Used In Woodpecker Drill?

Woodyhunting - manufacturer of wodpecker drill - seems to be out of business. I have one of his systems but need to get another drill bit. I am specifically looking for the manufacturer and model of the one he used to use in his kit. The Irwin auger bit is not the same length so it must be another brand?

The Woodpecker drill, and the drill made by Woodyhunting are two different things. The Treehopper is another variation. All three use a 3/8" bit of different design.
The Woodpecker was the first hand drill made for hunting, and was invented by Jerry Simmons of Alabama. It was sold as part of the Simmons System for many years, but was discontinued several years back by the former owner of Simmons. Dave is currently looking at bringing it back online. I sure hope he does.

Yes, I just called it the woodpecker drill for a reference. I am looking specifically for the bit that was sold by woodyhunting. The version from Treehopper is different and not what I am searching for.
Thanks,
James

Try EZKut, I believe he bought the operations from woodyhunting.

Treehopper has the cordless bits in stock. I just bought one. My hand drill bit just broke also.

Years ago I made my own one-hand drill for installing bolts as tree steps, I bought and used a ship auger bit with a single cutter and screw-tip feed. I welded it into the handmade drill handle and it worked great. 20-some years later I still have it, and it is as good as day one.

Here you go on the website.
http://ezkutproducts.com/products.php
He just boughtthe company and is getting things up and running, call him and leave a message and he will get back to you. I boughtthe treehopper drill bit but it does not work as well, it doesn't automatically remove the shavings as you are drilling.

Hey guys....
Sorry...I just saw this thread again and didn't realize y'all wanted a picture. I will see if I can locate the drill tomorrow, and maybe shoot a couple pictures.
Then I'm gonna see a patent attorney..... :D
