new pig set up/I'll be fine
« on: December 23, 2012, 02:32:00 PM »
Just got some limbs in from a TG guy . 58 @ 27, I draw 28.5 . they fit my psa riser right good. make a 58" bow and with a little flat black and od green, look really cool. Got some 65/80 momentum arrows with 300 gns up front. that's a tad over 26 percent FOC for those that study such things. Getting 155fps out of this rig and arrows weigh 720gns. thats about 12 gns per lb. Haven't bare shafted but all I see is nock when I shoot them. I think they'll get the job done.

Now for the TG experts, which broadhead? I got Big Jims, Vpa's and Abowyer large bone head.  the first two are 300gn and the abowyer 315.

Here's what I'm thinking. one big jim for 120lb or less vpa's for anything else. and one abowyer just in case Hog zilla shows up.

Merry Christmas tradgang. I'll be heading down to svbz to test my stuff the 26th . DB

I would just use the VPA's period. No need to worry about the size of the hog.

Don, The new set-up sounds great!  Like James I think VPA's are all you need...but...if I was going to use all 3 and all 3 are great bh's, I would use them just as you described.

Good luck and I look forward to some text pix....Merry Christmas   :campfire:

Don,

I think I would hate to be a pig right now.

Have a great trip.
Relax,

You'll live longer!
