Shout-out to Mark Baker
« on: December 26, 2012, 09:30:00 PM »
This past summer, when we realized we'd be moving our daughter to Bozeman, Montana for Grad School, I contacted Mark Baker to inquire about the Bozeman area. He not only invited us to his house for a meet and greet when we arrived, but since has welcomed our daughter to their home to shoot her bow, enjoy a home-cooked meal, or just to hang around in a pleasant family environment. They've been extemely gracious hosts and have made Jenna feel at home. And Jenna and Penny get to exchange a little "girl-talk" when Mark has something better to do.(like hunting) I've thanked them before, but I'd just like to give a shout-out to Mark for being one of the many good guys to be found among us.

Thanks Gary....but Jenna really is a joy to have around, especially for my wife who is seemingly "surrounded" by male ego, point of view, lack of "understanding"...whatever you want to call it!  Were it not for her, and a couple of other bowhunters wives around here, she would have little outlet to vent or just "escape" to....

Besides, that girl can shoot a selfbow real well...and she seems very comfortable with the "way" things are around here.   You did well in raising her!

I hope you all had a great Christmas, and I hope you are enjoying the books as well!  Thanks again, Gary!

Very Cool! Always warms the heart to see something you believe in. I've not found a community of people who I believe in more than this one. I've always believed life should look as you described in your shout out. Great job to both families, and everyone wins!

I'm thinking about movin' to Bozeman when I grow up.  Will you adopt me too?   :)

For a truck load of Osage I'd adopt John, then he could actually live in Bozeman.

Mark, we need to chase kitties one morning then work on some bows.  I finally got the garage ready for bow building season and have a couple of yew staves at NALS that keep whispering from the corner they want to transform into bows.  They are only waiting for a little help.
The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.
