Southern hunt options

A friend and Myself are looking into possible options for a late winter/spring hunt for either this year or next. I was thinking maybe a boar/turkey or Javalina/boar or turkey combo we like to do stuff ourselves, so limited guiding (rules/laws overview of the area and a place to stay and hunt) would be the best. What states, times, contacts, and options do any of you suggest.

Texas as soon as deer season is over the better as game is still at feeders.

How about Georgia in late February for hogs? A couple of buddies and I are going to give it a whirl.

Never question a man's choice in bows or the quality of an animal he kills. He is the only one who has to be satisfied with either of those choices.
