Arrow cut-off saw ?
«

So I just got a cut off saw for christmas. I know this will work for wood arrows. But has anyone ever used this saw for carbons. It is a drill master 120 volt 2" bench top cut-off saw from Harbor Freight.

You should have gotten a couple high speed cut off wheels with the saw. Been using on carbon and aluminumn for years.

I had one, it worked ok, just take it slow and rotate the arrow as your cutting it. You might want to make a simple jig to attach it to with a way to hold an arrow and spin it to get a true cut.

Various bows, but if you see me shooting, it's probably a Toelke in my hand!

Double check me, but.......I think you can't cut carbons with a saw blade that has teeth (splinters it). I used my dremel with the cut off wheel (abrasive, no teeth) with my shop vac getting the dust (stay away from carbon dust) and it worked fine. Good Luck, Happy New Year!

Right. Need to get the abrasive discs for carbon. The metal sawtooth blade will work for wood.

Hope that you didn't get that screen name by using this saw!

And do not forget a mask, carbon dust is very bad for your lungs.
