Hi all,
Today was out on the range to train at 45 yards for a 3d competition later this month.
I decided to have a go with my #50@27 (i draw 27) Mohawk longbow for those long distance shots.
As i still have to build a new set of woodies, i grabed what was available in my arrow dump.
I finished with 2 arrow groups:
- Cedar at 45-50 with 100 grain points , 4 inches fletchings, average weight 420 grains (8.4 gr/#)
- Cedar at 55-60 with 125 grain points, 5 1/2 fletchings (a lot ^^), average weight 485 grains (9.7 gr/#)
I was surprised by the results: the heavier ones with the massive fletching where systematicaly upper in the target (about 3 1/2 feet) than the lighter ones.
Can someone help me to understand this results ?
best regards
M
