I just saw these on their site. Guess these are replacing the MFX?  They are lighter weight. i cant believe they would stop making the MFX, had to be a huge seller for them. Anyone know the scoop?  BILL

I seems to me that they simply moved the mfx concept into the Easton line "axis traditional". it makes sense since the mfx was in the Eason price range rather than the more affordable Beeman price range. if these new Beemans  are just as pricey I am just as confused.

I shot MFX for the past three years. I have the new Trads now. The new ones seem to have a slightly smoother finish and they might be a tiny bit more narrow? I don't have a micrometer so I don't know for sure.  The new trad is about 25 grains lighter at my 27" BOP arrow length.

I just weighted 2, uncut arrows:

1.  500 spine MFX that was 31.5" long without inserts but with 3, 5" shield cut feathers. 319 grains.

2. 500 spine new Traditional that was also uncut with 3, 5" parabolic feathers. This arrow is about 3/8" shorter out of the box than the MFX. It weighed 298 grains.

When I made up my first of the New Trads for hunting with identical  inserts and the same length as my MFX arrows I found that the MFX was 505 grains and the new Axis Trad was 484.  Both had 100 grain brass inserts and 125 grain field points.

So, the new Trad seems to be 5% lighter.

The Beman Center Shot arrows do not use X nocks and the HIT insert.  They use the "H" size nocks and RPS inserts, similar to the ST Excels.  The .400 spine that is in the picture is 9.6 gpi

They will also offer a 75/50 gr bass RPS insert for the Center Shot.

If I'm not mistaken, the Easton AXIS Traditional shafts will replace the Beman MFX.  The only weight comparison I have currently, is of the .600 spine.  My wife's .600 AXIS Trad Shafts are 7.9 gpi and the old Beman MFX were 8.0 gpi.

Yeah, I was a little upset when I found out the mfx were being discontinued. My arrows stay full length and I use the 340 spine so I'd lose almost 30grain if I switched to the new Easton traditional. As stated, the Easton Traditional are the direct replacements for the MFX Classics, being the same diameter and everything. The centershot arrows have a wider diameter which I believe is closer to the diameter of the gold tip traditionals.

For me it looks like the new Centershot is similar to the no longer available Easton Epic camo.
If you compare the weight of the Epic (which isn't camoflaged at the back) with the Centershot, it's nearly equal.
However: great looking arrow shaft, if the wood pattern is more wear resistant than the mfx one, and if it's easier to pull than the Gold Tip Trad, this could become my arrow!

The Beman MFX were one of my favorites due to the additional weight.  Looks like another case of Easton erroneously assuming that "wheelie" appeal is trad appeal!

That's what I like most about the MFX is the weight. They don't replace MFX's with anything as far as weight goes. You have to change to aluminum/carbon..Full Metal Jackets..or the specialty real heavy arrows to get skinny arrows with the weight of MFX's.

The heavy MFX's spoiled me..when I pick up a regular weight arrow it just feels too fragile and light.

Well, I love the CX heritage shafts for their weight , durability and price BUT I prefer to buy American. I had to try some of these out so maybe I'd find an affordable American version.
I bought a bareshaft today locally to try and tune in and see what I think.
With the standard 75/50 gr insert I decided to go with 400 spine since I want 175gr broadheads. After tuning I'm at 30 1/4" with the supplied 75gr insert and 175grain FP. They are flying great. Total weight is 550gr and these are for my 50# Morningstar.
I think I'm gonna get a 500 spine and use the 50 grain insert and see what I can come up with too. I prefer 9 GPP and its just fun to play with combos. I will be ordering a doz of these Centershots. Very nice arrows
