ground blind with the stick ?????
«

Anyone out there hunted with traditional stuff from a ground blind ???? Either store bought or natural blinds ?
I shot my first deer a few months back with a compound from my blind. I recently bought my first recurve and hope to shoot deer from it next season.

Hunt from mine all the time. Make sure the one you get is tall enough for your stick bow. Several manufacturer out there. Good luck

Have taken an antelope. Tried wt deer last month - missed a shot. Use a 58" longbow and Double Bull blind.

Sure, you just need to be careful which pop blind you use though. Some blinds have the windows so high that they do not work as well for longbows or recurves.

I hunt from natural blinds I build. I have not been in a tree stand in years. I like to find cedars in a good area and just go to work. There is nothing like the feeling you get when you are eye to eye on their level.

Nothing beats a natural blind, they are free and take little time to build and can be made to fit you and the bow.

I hunted in a pop up blind once when hunting in Ohio. It was OK but I felt too confined and could not watch the woods like I want to.
I have been hunting more and more out of natural ground blinds lately.Sometimes I get elaborate and cut saplings and lash them to trees and add brush. Other times I sit in the limbs of a downed tree (One of my favorites)or just sit with my back to cover with a bush or brush in front of me.
You have to have a strong heart as it is really exciting to be eye to eye at 10 yards waiting for a shot.

I did last year, POP up,had deer at 7 yrds and a fawn put it's
head in the window, YES WITH stick bow just make sure your limb tips clear at full draw and release. and practise shooting sitting ( No hunting  this year Thanks to sandy)

I have hunted from both a double bull dark horse or an ameristep hub blind. Both fit my 56-62" recurves OK, but with another person in the blind it can get tight since you need to cant the bow a little bit.
I haven't had an issue because I mostly hunt alone, but it's a consideration if you plan on two hunters in the blind.

For me I have found pop ups just too confining. I like having as clear a veiw s possible all around.
I like building ground blinds with a little of work they are very effective.

The older I get, the more often I hunt out of a pop-up blind.

I have been hunting from the ground more and more. In this video she was at 7 yards away in front of me and never knew I was there. I could not move because of her, but managed to get my phone and get a quick video of her while she was 20 yards away. I hunt in a Rancho Safari, and they do work wonders!
