Love those snowshoe pics. I have never run my beagle Daisy on them, most areas here with lots of them also have lots of wolves.

Over&Under... yep, old Bear Alaskan. My best buddy. We always were a little competitive and it irked him a little that I got one more jack than he did that day.
He passed a few years ago and that bow is on the wall in my office.

T- Dunker I can't believe it took you so long to post !  Didn't know you had snowshoes in California.

Roger - thanks here's a couple more. Our wolves eat them but definitely focus more on bigger stuff.  Usually have lynx or coyote tracks in the better areas here.  Have only hunted with a beagle a few times but man what fun.

I love hunting cottontails more than anything.  I like to say that I know how to shoot a gun because of ground squirrels and I know how to shoot a bow because of cottontails.  If I had to choose one animal to hunt for the rest of my life, it would be cottontails, without even batting an eye.

this last pick is of the first cottontail I ever took with a bow when I started shooting a bow seriously, I was playing with shooting as a lefty back then. and was a bit skinnier! that was 7 years ago  :o

speaking of pygmies, we have got some here in my neck of the woods, and they are not protected, but they are pretty rare to come across, I know of a place where one can find them fairly regularly.
