Tab NOT!
« on: August 20, 2007, 08:28:00 PM »
I shoot with a Damascus glove. I get a fairly good release with it. I've ordered a Dura-Glove from 3Rivers, but it is backordered. I want to try different things to see what I do the best with.

I tried a Cordovan tab. I can't hit a dang thing with it. I'm all over the place. The arrows are fishtailing and all sorts of stuff. I must be doing something wrong.  :banghead:

John,

Where are you placing the string on your fingers,

I find a deep hook (but not to deep) works well with a tab. JMO

That's were I'm talking about.

The reason I asked I've seen a lot of people try on their finger tips.

I do think they take some getting use too, and a smoother release.

I use a Calf Hair Tab it did take some practice but my release got better and with a glove that also improved.

I have spent the last 6 months changing over to the Skookum Cordovan tab from Alaska Bowhunting from a lifetime of glove shooting.  I had a real hard time getting used to it but am now very happy.  I really like to cool (not hot) feeling of nothing on my hand.  Stick with it if that's the way you want to go.

I go back and forth between the Damascus glove and the Neet Cordovan Spacer tab (also the Neet Calf Hair tab with hard spacer).  I'm finding my best consistent shooting to be with the Neet spacer tab.  I haven't used the glove in some time now.  I use a deep hook.  Also, I tie string nocks to protect the tab/glove material.
