Kwik Styk help
« on: January 22, 2013, 08:42:00 AM »
Hello all, my turn is here to send info to Jack for my new Quik Styk. He'll be starting it next month. For you QS guys, has anyone ordered their Quik Styks with a med high to high grip? Would love to see some pics. Also I'm looking for some suggestions for wood combos. I've contacted Joe S. for some pics also. Quite excited. What I do know is it will be 56" w/ static tips. My swamp bow. Most Styks I see seem to be low grip.

Here's a pick of my raven by jack.  Black and white ebony.  His bows are truly works of art.  Although its not a KS the risers are pretty much the same.

I am away and dont have pics at this time but i had Jack build one with the "Guru" grip and i love it.  I went with a bomb proof grey action wood riser and  stained to match bamboo limbs.  I didnt do anything fancy, figured this would be my hardest working bow and the extra fancy wood cost wasn't needed.  Doesn't mean i dont still want a fancy bow built by Jack.

My bow is absolutely awesome shooting and the "Guru" grip is nearly perfect.

Sorry i dont have pics.  Hope this helps.

I'll send more pics. If you have a riser that you like..grip wise, send it to Jack and he will copy it. A sketch of any grip also works.

I'm finding myself being to the dark side. Man those Ravens are NICE. No finger pinch w/ the shorter Ravens? And yes, I'll be going with famed Guru grip. Curt, you should be getting some kickback :^)

Swampy, You mentioned finger pinch....I have a 56" Raven, and of course my 2 56" KS's.
I think Jack measures them a little different because my KS's a a bit longer than my Raven.

I've never felt finger pinch on my KS's at my near 29" draw, but I do feel just a bit with my Raven....just a tiny bit. No uncomfortable at all, just a different feel on my fingers at full draw.

As far as the "Guru Grip",  don't worry, my buddy Jack has taken good care of me over the years.

 He's a fine gentleman!!   :notworthy:

How about a shot of those limbs? Gorgeous riser.

Here's a pix of mine. Its called "Gun's Grip". I shoot straight wrist. This thing fits like a glove. I guess it helps that Jack lives nearby.   ;)

It's really simple. Just don't take those borderline shots. Tomorrow is another day.

I don't have any pics of the limbs.  They don't have much figure in them but they look good enough for me.

Slowly but surely i'm leaning away from the KS and towards the Raven w/ static tips. What would be a good combo (for limbs) to go with the B&W ebony? Love that riser.
