Shallow Pockets
« on: January 24, 2013, 08:43:00 AM »
I want, very much, to support our sponsors and I don't have very deep pockets. I was recently gifted a 40# Bear recurve by one of our most generous members here and now I need to get some arrows. I very much prefer wood arrows and I'm planning on piecing together the tools to once again build my own. However, I find that the price of shafts has gone up considerably in the last 30 years, while my income has gone down. So can anyone tell me the most economical place to purchase 11/32 Port Orford Cedar shafts? Send me a PM if you like, as I'd rather not single out one sponsor as more economical than another. I haven't shot in the last 25 or so years, and I'm looking to get back at it. Thanks a lot.

Joe.  I have six arrows here made up that are spined 45-50.  Now they are 29" long so that would put them around the 40-45 lb spine.  You can have them if you think you can use them?  Let me know and I will get them shipped out if you think you can?

I got you address on the PM Joe.  I will get the arrows out in the next couple of days, as soon as some of this snow and ice lets me get to the post office.  Hope you enjoy them.   :)

You should try Douglas Fir (surewoods) they are the new cedar and are priced economical.
