Woodsman Elite 175 Grain
« on: January 28, 2013, 11:47:00 AM »
Just placed a Three Rivers Archery order for the Woodsman Elite 175 grain broadheads. Can anyone provide feedback on the 175 grain Woodsman Elite? Any tuning issues with carbon arrows?

Thanks,
Ron

Love that head.  Has more length than the 150's, or at least than the 150 VPA’s I have.  It is solid vs. vented for the lighter WWE heads.  They fly great. They are very durable, and I think have a lifetime warrantee.  Noting not to love.

I use these with an aluminum 2117.  This year I shot one into the spine of a doe at 17 yards.  Not a great shot but the head did it's job.  It went almost all the way through i just touched it and it came out the other side.  Best part was there wasn't a single nick on the blade sharpened it up and put it through the shoulder of another deer and still not a nick on it.
No tuning issues at all just screwed them on and they shot great for me.

Tough head with a great warranty.

I could post a pic of what one can do to a barefooted (and stupid) human (me), but the last time I shared the pics some folks felt ill.

Wigeon I am bringing them down in march as a back up I am going to be shooting simmons but if you have those woodsmens sharp you will have no problem putting them into a pig.

Good information. I also shoot Leon Stewart longbows at 50# and was wondering about arrow penetration.

I shot them at 5 animals this year.  All 5 won a free ride in my pickup truck.  They work for me!
Great flying head, easy to sharpen, and I really like the non-vented blades.
