Bear super grizzly or kodiak mag?
« on: February 01, 2013, 01:28:00 AM »
Which do you guys prefer and why? I'm getting one of them and can't decide . I shot the grizzly awhile back and liked it but have not had the chance to shoot a kodiak mag . I just worry about stacking with the shorter bow. My draw is 27, I am looking for a bow i can shoot in a blind. I also have a 58" Don Dow on order, so really leaning toward the kodiak mag for turkey hunting. I just have some concerns with stacking. I'm looking at grizzly cuz i have always thought they were nice bows. Thanks. Matt

I have both. Like them both. If I had to choose one over the other for a blind hunt I'd choose the K mag but that's just me. 52" vs 60". not that the Super kodiak would have any issues in a blind. At your draw either will work great. So basically it boils down to personal preference. I would recommend shooting a K mag first just to see for yourself.

Super Grizzly for me.  I have owned both.

The Super Grizzly is 58".  That's plenty short for me in a blind.  Matt is referring to his 60" Super Kodiak.

To me the Super Grizzly is exceptionally smooth and more stable than the K-mag.

I love the looks of the K-mags, and they are fine bows but I prefer the Super Grizz.

My draw is 29" and I shoot 3 under.  Both of those could tend to cause issues with the K-mag since it's so short, but there are guys with 29" that love their K-mags.

I would try to find a way to shoot both.

Oh, take into account my blind is the size of a Hilton...Matt has also seen it...I can shoot a 66" bow in it.  I hunt with my kids from time to time so use a large blind

My preference for a blind bow is definitely the KMag.   I have 2 and I, also, draw 27".  You won't have any problems at that draw length.  The KMag is just one of those bows that hit a homerun.

Thanks for clearing that up Colin! I missed the super Griz and was thinking of my Kodiak.
