Thanks to Gregg Dudley
« on: February 03, 2013, 06:52:00 PM »
For those of you that don't know, Gregg is a dead eye shot.  I've hunted with him twice now.  Both times we discussed shooting.  He's a little hesitant to give shooting advice in the middle of a hunt.

This year he said he thought I needed to be more "deliberate" in my shot.  I've been following his advice and my shooting is improving as I'm being more deliberate.  Thanks for the advice, Gregg.

For those wondering, I was, and am still fighting, "snap shooting".  Not that snap shooting is wrong.  It's just not right for me.  I noticed today, when I snap shoot, I don't consistently hit anchor.  When I slow down and make sure I hit anchor solid, I'm much better.

Don't know him but Gregg seems like good people. Would like to share a camp with him one of these years.

Gregg is a great guy to hang with, and he leaves lots of cool stuff at camp for everyone to divy up!  Plus, he is one of the few guys you will hunt with that doesn't snore at all........   :biglaugh:

I have known him and his family since 2008. Yes, he is a very good archer and a great guy. Hope to share a camp with him one of these days.

Y'all come and follow me down to TBOF state at Silver Springs, FL shoot in March. There are a lot of great folks there just like Gregg.

Thanks guys!  If I could just follow my own advice I might be deadly.  Glad that slowing down and taking a more deliberate approach is working out for you, Jeff.

And Brian, I actually woke myself up snoring the other day.  I hope you are getting lots of compliments on that fine TBOF shirt I left in camp.

The TBOF shirt fits great, and my kids think I look pretty cool in it, which is highly unusual.  Most of the time I manage to embarrass the kids with my wardrobe choices.

And Bisch, I'm feeling a bit punchy today, as I've been cooped up all weekend in a conference-no sunshine and no shooting.  I had to rush home afterwards just to catch of few rays of sunshine and get a few shots off before dark in order to salvage the weekend.

RC, I've known Gregg for a while, but I guess he just wasn't feeling that good.

Absolutely.  I consider myself lucky.  I had no idea how lucky when I first met him.  I spent my first Solana hunt with him and Charlie Lamb!  Should've bought lottery tickets.

Never have hunted with Gregg, or even shot with him, but have run across him enough to know him when I see him. He is one of the main contributers at TBOF, and works hard withthem to put on a great shoot. I know how much work that is, so he gets my respect for that. Good job Gregg, keep it up. Someday I'll put you on some KY whitetails if we can ever work out the logistics.
