Rer arroyo beaver tail grip
«
on:

Just got finished putting a beavertail grip on my rer. What a chore that was. I didn't know if it were possible but we figured it out. Man it looks beautiful. Can't wait to string it up and shoot it. I'm giving photobucket a whirl for the first time so bear with me.

Not exactly the way I was hoping to do it but at least there are pictures. Don't be too critical. First beavertail and on a recurve too.

Not too bad,i found that if you form it on your handle dry then soak the leather (any leather) in hot water then put it back on the handle it shrinks for a tighter fit.If you took that handle you just did and soak it you can probably close that little gap where it's stitched...

We did soak the tail and wrap it. The gap was due to a little excessive cutting and quick drying barge cement. When it started to stick it was over with. I'm very pleased with the outcome for the first attempt.

Hey, did you get that bow used? I owned one like that, what are the specs? Quietest recurve I ever shot, nice bows.

to check your photos size, all you have to do is right click on your mouse, then click on "properties". This will tell you the details about your pic, in your case its 764 x 1023 pixels.
nice lookin grip!

Yea I did get this used. Got it from pokerdaddy about 6-8 months ago. 58" 51#@28. Thanks for telling me how to check the sizing. Unfortunately I am doing this from my phone so I don't know how so resize them. Ill try to switch it back to the photobucket link before I get deleted.

Great Job, that type of grip is not easy at all to do a leather grip on it.

Yep, I owned it, great bow. Really quiet. I just went to longbows other than a few old Bears.

Good job. If you are worried about that small gap, you can always take the lace out, spread the edges a bit and insert a strip of beaver tail in the gap, under the edges, and relace over it.
It looks fine to me the way it is.
