Thankfully I haven't had to deal with vertigo myself, but I was wondering if you had tried a Treesaddle or similar treestand? They wouldn't help with the vertigo, but their design allows you to hunt a little lower to the ground. If you do it right you are harnessed in from the moment you step on to the tree until you get off so it's impossible to fall.
I hope you get to feeling better! That certainly doesn't sound like much fun. :(

Iv had problems with vertigo it comes and gos. We all know the saying" if I had known. I was going to lives this long I would have taken better care ot myself "conversations w friends often turn to current medical problems and pain medication dosing. All the. Best to my fellow archers who struggle with vertigo.

I have been lucky in that balance problems gave only come a few times when I had sinus/ear infections. You may need to strongly re-think your hunting practices regarding solo hunting and elevated stands. I also hunt alone a lot, so I understand your enjoyment of being by yourself; however, safety must be your ultimate concern.
Find a suitable hunting partner and become very knowledgable about ground blinds and ghillie suits.Far better that you become a changed hunter than a sad statistic. Hope you find a good solution.
