For me it all depends on the terrain and type of hunt. A hip quiver that rides comfortably and does not get in the way is often preferable when walking or slow movement. If you have to bushwack, they can become increasing iritiating and you beat the snot our of your fletching. For me, I like having one that can be easily taken off your belt without taking your belt off. I have a small loop section of string on the top and bottom so I can hang it from a tree or branch as needed either up or down. The one I have, I have a strap that allows me to attach it easily to my day pack. I think it is a flexible option that allows you to adapt easily to change and necessity.
