Thought I'd post a little tip I've discovered on shrinking a leather shooting glove that was a hair too big.
I received an AL Crossover glove and was originally sized for an XL, too big so I returned for a large, (great customer service from John and Laurie by the way!). The size large was much better, but still looser in the finger stalls than I'd like so I Googled a method and it worked really well. Here's what I did.
-Get about 3 cups water with 1 part rubbing alcohol really hot and soak the glove for 10 minutes.
-Immediately after removing the glove, place it in your freezer for about 3-4 minutes.
-Hang to dry. I put mine over my furnace vent where the air wasn't too warm, but more for the circulation.
-The leather is going to be REAL stiff initially so I worked in two coats of Montana Pitch Blend and waited a couple of days for it to really soak in and dry, before I started shooting with it again.
After a short break in time, (~50-75 shots) the glove now feels as though it was custom fit to my hand.
I'd appreciate it if some of the leather guys on here would chime in if what I did was terribly detrimental to the integrity of the leather, but I see no harm done to my glove and the leather appears to have suffered no ill effects.
