Last year Don Batten came up with a great fund raiser idea for St Judes...Turkey Hunt Raffle. Lots of Trad Gangers made it an even bigger event by adding more items including a Hog Hunt thrown in by Marty Mahon. Lady Algebra was the lucky winner.
ROAD TRIP WITH A ST JUDES FLAVOR/HOGS was the first part of Mills Langahans journey. When I read that post and saw Mills so cute in her pink camo top (from Leatherneck), I knew I had to re-build a knife that I offered to the winner of the Turkey Hunt. My quest for some Pink Handle material was on. I had lots of great suggestion from the Hunting Knives & Crafters forum but nothing caught my eye. Then I remembered that I used to stain my wood arrows with Rit Clothing dye mixed with denatured alcohol.
This is my gift to Mills. Hope she with her dad Michael's help gets to clean a Big Gobbler. I'd love to give it to her personally but I think I'll be chasing Nebraska turkeys at the same time. The knife will include a pink flower sheath still in the works...tippit
