Shooting Grizz- But I'm a longbow guy

Iv' been shooting my new to me Super Grizz as of the last week. And I must say it shoots nice, very smooth. The bullseye has been getting crowded the last couple of days for the most part. I really enjoy shooting it and with more practice, I could get pretty da$#@ good with it..........BUT I'M A LONGBOW GUY, I can't help it. I went in the house and grabbed my Bushbow and after a little adjustment started shooting quarters out to 18 yds. I just can't get used to that sunk in handle and added weight of the recurve. Can you relate, what say you !

Im right there with ya Dave! Ive got a Super Kodiak that shoots as well as anything ive owned and as with you i shoot it very well, but it seems my heart lies with the gentle arc, and feel of the Hill styles, and even though my recurves perform very well for me, they just lack that certain something.

I am the exact opposite, I love the grip on my Martin Hatfield recurve.

Seriously tho...today I was shooting my Titan ILF recurve and an old Bear Montana longbow that I reshaped the grip and refinished. I was shooting wood out of the longbow and carbon out of the recurve. I have 8 bows on my bow rack and 4 are longbows and 4 are recurves. I enjoy shooting both. I was all longbow for a while then all recurve, all wood arras then all carbon. Nowdays I just shoot. The funny thing is one of my favorite recurves has a longbow grip and my 3 favorite longbows have a recurve grip.

heydeerman, I can see myself really liking hybrids like you mention. the Super Ghost for instance. Iv' never shot one, but with the longbow style riser, I think I might really like it. For me many of the low wrist recurves could prove to be winners as well. For now, the weight, feel and pointability of the longbow has me won over. But then there's always tomarrow and the next bow to shoot.
