As many of us Tradgangers have experienced over the last ten years, I just wanted to remind everyone of the great stuff our sponsors have out there in both product and talent. Soooo, when Ron LaClair said he had some old Acme Premium cedar shafting in his shop that he was selling off at the Kalamazoo expo, I told him to ship me two dozen of the 60-65# spine group that he had left. Being as I'm busier than a one legged man in a butt kicking contest at the office, I decided to ship these off to David Lawson at Wilderness Custom Arrows for a tail tapering, staining, crowning, cresting tapering 'spa' treatment so I'd have some ready to fletch shafting.
While he was doing his magic, I gave a shout out to Matt Gundock of Turkey Flight Traditional for the appropriate real wild turkey feathers (even though David is doing some great splicing and fletching himself, I'm a sucker for traditional barred feathers).
So, the shafting came back beautifully done and of course Matt had stuff here lickity split and top notch as always. Of course I appreciate Ron LaCairs ability to pack away old nostalgia from years gone by.
So here's the finished product (I know one of them is just begging to meet up with a wild turkey this spring):
Thank you gentleman for your products, service and craftsmenship!
