Hoiland Broadheads
«

Years ago...23 or so, I purchased a dozen heads from a fellow out west...Washington or Oregon I think, not sure which. I THINK the heads were called Hoiland heads. I'm not sure of the spelling. He had them advertised in Tradtional Bowhunter Magazine. I always thought they were great heads.
Anybody have any additional info on these heads? Are they still made? Anyone use them yet?
Curious to see what you have to say....
Thanks,
Kevin

Wade Phillips' book shows a number of Hoiland heads with dates of 1988. All seemed to be based on an approximate 3/1 ratio and with a separate ferule.
I have never owned or used one so I can't comment on their useability, but they appear to be similar to several others available in the day.

Yes Ron Hoiland made broadheads in Washington, he was more of a broadhead craftsman, he would temper the diferent parts of the broadhead to achieve different hardness on different parts of the broadhead, this left some very interesting patina on the heads. I sure would like to get my hands on a few more of those.

Thanks, Chuck and Ted.
Ted, I agree, I too would like to get some more of these heads. If you ever find any and don't buy them all let me know!
