I changed clothes and made some lunch and talked to Killy and the others in camp.  Jeff, Bob, and Bobby (and I think Stringcutter) were off stumping in the woods behind camp.  I DIDN'T shoot Hope.  Somehow that detail seemed to slip someones mind.  That's okay, I have a date with her and some gobblers in April.  After lunch and some hanging around camp the remainder of the crew seperated for the evening hunt.  I decide to squirrel hunt my way to the spot I had selected for the evening.  It started out well with a squirrel letting me get within range right away.  My windage was just a tad off and my footed alum. shaft tipped with a hex head bounced off an oak trunk.  The arrow was unharmed and the squirrel allowed me to take a second shot at a little further distance.  This time the windage was on but elevation was low.  Mr. Gray vacated the area.  He must have spread the word because from then on I couldn't get within 40 yards of a squirrel.  I set up for the evening hunt and the wind seemed good with occasional stray breezes.  I didn't see anything except at the last light a squirrel came to the tree beside me to mock me.  He then climbed up the tree I was sitting against and started dropping acorns all around me.  Impudant creatures.
Apparently I missed out on that stunning sunset by being down in the hollow.  I walked back to camp and Rob, Kathy, Hardee, and I shared a good chili Rob had made.  We talked awhile and then I had to head out for home.  On the way out I saw a nice 8 pointer cross the road in front of me, taking his time and flaunting me.
Thanks for the good time and it was great meeting all the new people and revisiting with those I already knew.  Look forward to doing it again soon.
