Delta 3D Targets

While I've shot a bunch of 3D targets, I've never broke down and bought one.  Now, a local store has the Delta Maxim deer on sale with an extra replacement center for $89.  I think there are better 3D targets than these, but the price sounded pretty hard to beat, especially with the extra center.  Since I would be the only one shooting it, and can keep it in my barn when not being used, I thought this might work.  I know, the Rinehart are better, but a lot more money for limited use I would give it.  
Anyone have one of these Delta Maxim deer and what did you think of it?

Don't know about the Maxim but I have their Backyard Buck and am extremely happy with it...

That's a good target at a great price. Remember to bring it in out of the weather if possible.This makes it last longer. Practice picking a spot on that deer.Aim for the crease I usually take a black magic maker and extend the crease up the body where it belongs. If you keep the arrows in the replacement core you should have no problems. If you shoot broadheads into it you have to realize they will without a doubt tear the target up.Check your broadheads after you practice to see if they need touching up.

i agree they are quality targets for the price and great with field tips buts your broad heads will tear em up.

I have the delta backyard buck, and agree it's good target for the price.  As others have stated, it will last substantially longer if you keep it out of the weather, although mine has been out for 12 months and is still doing it's job.
 
Additionally, to offer a tip I have learned, if you take a fiberglass rod, of the variety driveway relectors come mounted on, and cut it with a hacksaw down to about 14", you can ram half of it into the detachable head/neck, and the other half into the body of the target, and it will keep the head from getting loose.

I've had a Delta 3-D target (Rutting Buck) for about ten years. Keep it inside when not in use. Only shoot it during 3-D season and hunting season. Would not hesitate to buy another one.

Back-Yard Buck lasted me quite some time when I shot a c******d.  Never shot broadheads at it.  I shot a fair amount and used about 1 vital per every year or two.  Always put it away and rarely left it out even over night.

There are better, but they carry a price.

I haven't had confidence to put up a 3-d until the last few weeks.  A bad hit in one of those and you are going to hit plastic (leg, leg socket, neck socket, etc).  Not fun pulling out of that......
