Sky Archery?
« on: April 05, 2013, 02:11:00 PM »
Looking for a new recurve and have seen a couple of bows by Sky Archery but I don't find many reviews online.  Anyone out there with experience with their recurves, especially the "Thunder"?

Thanks in advance,

JDG

Jim Belcher is a great bowyer...... you can't go wrong buying a Sky Archery or Belcher bow. I don't own one (yet) but have shot many of Jims bows at the k-zoo expo's and they've all been awesome bows.

I see you're from MI. Jims shop is in Brighton, some local archery shops carry his bows. You can call Jim and ask him about it.

When they were owned by Mathews I dont think they were all that great for obvious reasons. But the original Sky bows & since Jim Belcher took over they are first class. I had a Sky Hawk T/D from the mid 90's and it was a great bow.

I had a Sky Hawk T/D in the late 80s. It was a very nice bow. I don't know about the new ones.

I plan to visit the shop before I order my bow but being relatively new to modern recurves I am looking for feedback on their bows from those who have shot them hence the reason for my post.

Thanks

Jim makes a very fine bow , and you will be very happy with anything from his selection.  I shot one of his Sky tdx wood risers with his longbow limbs last night and they were fantastic

I have one of Jim's patriot recurves.  It's a great bow!
