I have one and it shot like a dream from day one. It's my first longbow so I only have my recurve to compare it to. My buddy has one and he turned me on to Leon after he wouldn't shut up about how well his shoots!

My wife shoots one, does quite well with it I might add.  It is the quietest bow in our household.  Craftsmanship is first rate.

Longbow-  get ahold of one of Leon's longbows and you will NOT be sorry.  He's one of the best of the best.  I briefly had my hands on a macassar and red elm classic that was the most well crafted longbow I had laid hands on up to that point, it was to me THE quintessential D profile r/d bow.  I parted with it only because I traded it for one of Leon's takedowns, and that bow is NEVER leaving my little harem unless it is replaced with another Leon bow.

PS:  I also owned a Defiant for a little while, SUPER bow.  Guess what, I traded the Dwyer for the macassar LS classic.  Dwyer IMHO is also one of the finest longbow makers out there.  Leon's bows are every bit the equal in fit and finish to Dwyer, maybe better, but both are excellent, perhaps just different design.  Good luck!

I have a Slammer and a Short Slammer. I bought another Slammer for my husband Mockingbird. That Short Slammer makes me grin all over. The Slammer hits whatever I hold on, and I use it to tell me what I am doing wrong.

Leon has the basics down pat, and the care that he puts into the little details, down to the nocking points on the string, make him an old-school craftsman in my eyes. There is integrity in every aspect of his business.

I have owned many Leon Stewart longbows over the years and also consider Leon a friend. He is the most detailed oriented person I know when it comes to building bows. If you really take a look at Leon's bows you will see what I'm talking about. I have the honor of owning some of the most beautiful longbows that he has ever made. He takes great pride in his work and builds one of the hardest hitting most beautiful bows on the market.

Highly recommended!

Ron

Thanks to everyone for your responses. I spoke to Leon yesterday and I'm awaiting some e-mail photos of his in-stock bows, which he has in my desired weight.
